The Story Behind the Piece

Dharma was photographed on the island of Koh Kood, Thailand, while I was on assignment at a small eco resort. The property had its own organic farm, where mushrooms were cultivated beneath shaded wooden structures and used by the surrounding kitchen and restaurant. I was there to photograph and film the property, but became completely drawn to this one king oyster mushroom. Its shape felt sculptural, almost architectural, with an elegance that seemed much larger than the subject itself. Afternoon light filtered through the canopy above, illuminating the mushroom’s cap while allowing the background to fall into shadow. The form had become abstract, almost wave like, with delicate folds and curves that carried a sense of movement. Dharma is about alignment and path, about noticing the natural order already present in even the smallest details.

Artwork Description

Dharma is a study of form, texture, and balance. A single king oyster mushroom fills the frame, its soft gills unfolding in pale, sculptural layers. The composition is minimal yet expansive, transforming an organic subject into something almost architectural. Elegant curves recall the movement of a cresting wave, while the restrained palette gives the image a grounded, meditative presence.

Each piece of artwork is printed on museum grade, acid free, fine art paper, with the use of the highest quality archival inks.

Framing

Our solid wood frames are imported from Italy, then cut and joined locally in Southern California. Prints are expertly mounted with a 2-inch mat board to provide the sturdy feel, flush setting and high quality aesthetic you'd find in any fine art gallery. Each frame is handcrafted with a sheet of UV-blocking acrylic glass and comes with self leveling hanging hardware, so your artwork is ready to hang as soon as it arrives.

Shipping is free to all customers in the Continental U.S. All orders will be shipped within 5 business days of the order being placed. Once shipped, you can expect your order to arrive in 3 to 10 days. You will be able to track your packages through a tracking number which will be emailed to you after purchase. Please ensure that your order is being delivered to an address where you can safely acquire your package, as we cannot take responsibility for stolen packages.
